The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists recommends that Whooping Cough or Pertussis Vaccination should be ideally given during pregnancy in the third trimester between 28 and 32 weeks.  Vaccination during pregnancy is more effective in reducing risk of Whooping Cough in young infants as antibodies are passed through from the vaccinated mother to the baby through the placenta.  Vaccination is recommended with each pregnancy to provide maximal protection to every infant.
